Your GP or Consultant may have suggested that you speak to a dietitian to help you make some changes to your diet which will have a positive benefit for your health. You can discuss your individual needs in a relaxed environment on a one-to-one basis. You will receive evidence-based, practical advice which will fit in with your own personal goals and lifestyle. All our consultations take place in the strictest confidence although you may be asked for your permission to share any recommendations with your GP. You will need to complete a short questionnaire about your health, symptoms, medication and food diary. At your appointment you can expect an in-depth dietary, health and lifestyle physical assessment – including BMI and other measurements as necessary. You will receive a programme of bespoke dietary advice and the opportunity to discuss realistic and achievable goals. You will get help with motivation and problem solving. An initial appointment is 60-90 minutes with 30-45 minute follow-up appointments. Dietitians are experts in the complex science of nutrition and are registered with the Health Care Professions Council and the British Dietetic Association. They are the only nutrition professionals in the UK to hold a legally recognized graduate qualification in Nutrition and Dietetics. The HCPC ensures the highest professional standards.
